Protecting Our Communities and Oceans Through Actions, Education and Awareness 


  LOCAL INSTALLATION & ACTIVATION 

  • “Wave Safe Quick Reference Guide” 22 x 28” posters use certified, recycled Ocean Bound plastics printed by a Green Certified printer with the translation version appropriate for the installation location 
  • "Take Ten" posters, using the same materials and printing process, are graphics driven content focused on the core protective action from the Wave Safe initiative to prevent second victim drownings
  • "Are You Wave Safe" stickers and shelf level signage are designed to be used on vehicles, on entrance doors or at point-of-purchase locations to link customers to the Wave Save Live information page
  • "Wave Safe" / "Take Ten" rack cards for public information kiosks or countertop areas
  • Ocean Positive can work with NOAA National Weather Service's local Weather Forecasting Offices or stakeholders to assess installation locations and support communications and outreach 
  • Ocean Positive works with local partners on local outreach initiatives from presentations to coastal activities 
  • Posters and supplemental signage should be installed using environmentally friendly and locally approved materials and methods 
  • Ocean Positive Material and Printing Partners are available to produce ocean positive signage and graphics to fill an agency's, company's or group's entire signage needs  

Dynamic Connections

  • Pre-programmed Dynamic QR Code Interface are printed on customizable secondary signs 
  • QR Code read capability is embedded in virtually all operating systems for handheld devices 
  • Scanning the code with the device's camera links the patron to limitless dynamic safety and educational content 
  • Patrons can open and access the website which can be managed by the program partner from anywhere in the world 
  • Program partners have the capacity to interact with patrons while also collecting valuable information on how to best protect residents and visitors
  • Target website content controlled by partner may include: Weather Updates, Local News, NWS Beach Hazards Page, NOAA Ocean Today Wave Safe Series, Recreation / Training Tips, Local Conservation Tips or more…  

Positive Social & Environmental Impact

  • Bruckner Chase Ocean Positive, Inc. (BCOP) is a US based non-profit company with the mission: To positively impact how we all feel, think and act towards our oceans and communities 
  • BCOP works with NOAA and the National Weather Service on issues related to coastal safety, science and conservation under a multi-year Cooperative Research and Development Agreement 
  • Program funding supports BCOP’s Wave Safe initiatives with a special focus on underserved or remote communities 
  • Partner’s level of support is determined by scope and type of site installations and engagements as well as organization’s structure (Non-profit, school, service group, government agency, private corporation)

If you see someone in trouble:

  1. STOP
  2. Alert a lifeguard and call 911
  3. Look for something that floats
  4. Reach or throw something to help someone in trouble while you stay safe. Help keep them calm so professional help has time to arrive
  5. Never enter the water alone to help others without proper equipment, support and training so that YOU DO NOT BECOME THE TRAGIC SECOND VICTIM.

Wave Safe Locals Edition

  A series of unique place-based, on-site “Feet in the sand, Toes in the water” assets with minimal post-production work to produce a social media friendly library of educational pieces to supplement the international scale of the NOAA NWS Wave Safe series. The initiative includes community outreach to engage the local community in both the development of the Local Edition content and dissemination of the Wave Safe series assets throughout the local venues.
